I see a lot of comments like this around Tumblr:

I always wanted to do those blackout poems… - But I don’t have the balls to ruin one of my books.

Exactly why you should use the newspaper! Newspapers are cheap, delivered daily, and they’re going to the recycle bin anyways. People have been finding poetry in the newspaper for over 250 years.

All the fun of blacking out without the guilt!
