Threw this out yesterday. It would be interesting to incorporate snippets of pictures into the poems, but it’s also an extra constraint that can make things frustrating. See also: “The Local Architect”
This is from way back in 2005. When I first started making the poems, I tried to connect pictures from the articles with a few choice words. This turned out to be way too much of a constraint—never mind the legal issues involved with including whole images.
Those of y’all just starting out with your own blackout poems, click through to this batch and take heart: my first ones really weren’t very good!
